EcoCAR Innovation Challenge
Stood up as Co-PI with Prof. P. Brodsky on the $520K, four-year DOE Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition award; assembling the Mines team for the Fall 2026 kickoff.
Battery Workforce Challenge
The three-year competition has concluded. The Mines-ACC team finished just outside the podium in Year 3, after a Year 1 national win and a fourth-place Year 2.
Teaching
The Summer 2026 MEGN 301 offering is complete, the first run after a mid-course feedback cycle drove a rebuild of the sprint structure. Overall course scores recovered; grading-criteria clarity did not, so explicit release-time rubrics and TA norming are the Spring 2027 targets.
KEEN
Named a 2026 National KEEN Rising Star, one of three selected nationally. Beginning the Fall 2026 Engineering Unleashed Fellowship cohort, with EM-FUEL, the network's faculty leadership program, convening its 2027 cohort in December. Continuing work with the Spring 2026 Crescendo cohort alongside both.
Writing
Drafting the Teaching Workload Index paper for the Journal of Engineering Education. Editing the "Hydrogen Dreams, False Claims" book chapter on the Nikola Corporation collapse for Elgar Publishing.
Method & Muse
Co-founder operations continue. Current focus is the next single-barrel release and front-of-house automation work that pulls on the engineering side of my brain.
